About Kingdom Psychology

We live in an age where more people have access to more information about mental health than at any other point in history. So why is mental healing more elusive than ever?

This blog arose out of discussions that rarely take place in the therapy room. It comes out of discussions with friends, neighbors, colleagues in the profession, and others who are engaged and empathetic observers of the human condition.

More people have access to mental health information than ever before. More people are aware of psychological ideas and nomenclature than ever before, thanks to generations of psychologically-informed entertainment. More people have an interest in and access to a seemingly limitless supply of spiritual messaging than at any other time in human history.

And yet, it is clear to even the most casual observer that more people than ever before are lost. People are seeking something to fix their problems, to manage or cope with the ever-growing number of diagnoses they are gathering, and to fill the aching void that technology and endless entertainment only seems to make more acute.

Although it may have started as an earnest effort to help ease human suffering, the field of psychology (mental health, behavioral health, social work, counseling, etc., etc.) has become another source of comparison and, ultimately, another measure by which most of us feel we are failing in a way we can never make up.

This blog is my approach to having a more honest, searching, and authentic conversation about the roots of human suffering, the possibility of healing, and the essential technology for activating our healing potential.
